ESA Application Opens
This morning the ESA application process for the 2024-2025 school year opened. The Department of Education recently updated information regarding the ESA application process for the 2024-2025 school year. That information is available at the Dept. of Education’s website including information for returning and new families. Key details regarding that information include:
· Applications for the 2024-2025 school year opened this morning at 8 AM and will be available until 11:59 PM on June 30th.
· New applicants will need to create an Odyssey account. Families who currently have an ESA will use their existing login information.
· If you were approved for an ESA for the 2023-2024 school year you qualify for an ESA for next school year but still must submit an application for the 2024-2025 school year.
· Others eligible for the ESA program in the 2024-2025 school year include:
o Students entering kindergarten at an accredited nonpublic school.
o Students transferring to an accredited nonpublic school from an Iowa public school or from homeschooling.
o Students currently enrolled in an accredited non-public school with a household income at or below 400% of 2024 federal poverty guidelines as verified on 2023 Iowa tax returns. (Line 4 of the 2023 Iowa 1040 tax form.)
· This year once you are approved you will then be able to indicate the school you plan to attend immediately after your application is approved.
· Most applications will be approved in about 30 minutes. If you do not have the required documentation available electronically or are selected at random for manual review, your application may take longer to process.

STO Applications Due May 3rd
Families who qualify for the STO program are strongly encouraged to also apply for the STO program. The deadline to submit an application this year is Friday, May 3rd. To apply please visit the FACTS website.
